Our Mandate to Albany.
“Our task as His people is to discern what God is doing and join with Him. It’s not so much that the church has a mission, but that God’s mission has a church....”. Alan Hirsch
Isaiah 58 speaks of the state of the nation of Israel and calls the people of God back to the true fast that we are all called to as believers. The fast is to reach out to the lost, the oppressed, the hungry, the homeless, the naked, (and there are people in this condition everywhere! It’s a state of the heart.) As we are awakened and respond to this call, the Lord gives a promised result to our response, He says, “Then your light will break forth like the dawn… those from among you will build the old waste places, you shall raise up the foundation of many generations; and you shall be called the Repairer of the Break, the Restorer of Streets to Dwell in.” This is what our cities need. This is the mission that God has called us into.
