“That’s plain enough, isn’t it? You’re no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You’re no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He’s using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day—a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home.” - Ephesians 2:19-22 MSG
This is the type of family that God is building in us and in our community at Jesus Pursuit Church. Regardless of your past, your history, or what you’ve known before...now because of Jesus and the relationship that He opened to up to us through life in Him, we have a home and a family. We belong. God is using each one of us to build His home with Christ as the centerpiece. I love that line...God is building a home. He’s using us all; irrespective of how we got here.
Sometimes it’s messy, but it’s going to be worth it. Let’s pursue this with all that we are, to see that a holy temple is built by God with all of us as a part of it, a place where God is very much at home. Ask yourself this question, “What is my part in this family, and how can I help others step into this family as well.”
I love you all!!!! ~ Emily
